family handsHello Everyone,

I’d like to share with you why I enjoy facilitating the Circle of Security Parenting Program (COS-P). I believe that this program is not only about parenting but about how we develop healthy relationships in all aspects of our lives.

It is through our early relationships with our families that we learn about relationships and COS-P gives parents insight into their children’s emotional needs and how to meet them. An important part of this is “being there” for our children. This involves being fully present with them whatever they are feeling, however uncomfortable that may be for us. The good news is that research suggests that we only need to “be there” 30% of the time, as we want also want our children to learn how to regulate their emotions on their own.

“Being there” is the greatest gift we can give our children, our partners, family and friends.
